The DeWalt DCS380N is a hard-working Reciprocating Saw which can be used in a raft of different situations. For plumbing applications it has a maximum cutting capacity of 130mm in steel sections and pipes. For carpentry it has a maximum cutting capacity of 300mm in wood. It can achieve these results because it is built with a powerful motor which delivers 560W, and the variable speed trigger allows you more control over applications. The four-position blade clamp further enhances its versatility and the ergonomic grip makes it comfortable to use over prolonged use.

Brushed motors use carbon brushes to transfer power from the fixed part of the motor to the rotor. A brushless motor, by contrast, uses a magnet mounted on the rotor to generate the power and electrical switching to perform the function carried out by the brushes.
