The DCC018 Inflator can utilise 3 different power sources: it is compatible with DeWalt's XR 18v battery range (as many DeWalt Power Tools are), it has an on-board 12v plug or can be powered by the 230v plug in adaptor (sold separately). In addition the DCC018 features a bright LED light and a fast deflation capability. This DeWalt Body Only tool is not supplied with a battery and charger.

Which is better: brushless or brushed tools?

Brushed motors use carbon brushes to transfer power from the fixed part of the motor to the rotor. This creates a reliable and relatively inexpensive motor, but brushed motors d require regular maintenance, in order to either clean the brushes or replace them as they wear out. A brushless motor, by contrast, uses a magnet mounted on the rotor to generate the power and electrical switching to perform the function carried out by the brushes. The additional complexity of the motor’s working means that brushless motors are usually more expensive than brushed.

Which voltage should I choose?

As a rule, there won’t be a choice of voltages for specific machine types we have listed under ‘Other Cordless’ but the category does include products which run at different power levels, from 10.8v through to 54v.

"Used plenty of times now. Dial is a bit cheap, works ok tho. It's quite fast to inflate and auto shut off. Good addition to your 18v kit. The car adaptor is tucked away. Could do with a cover for accessories as they could be lost. The 240 v optional extra transformer, is not needed. You can get 12v adaptors cheaply. Good for expansion vessels and blowing dust out."
