The Makita HP2070 Percussion Drill has a powerful 1,010 watt motor, with soft start and variable speed control to deliver up to 2,900 rpm and 58,000 bpm.
The Percussion Drill has 2 mechanical gears and electronic speed adjusting dial for pre-setting maximum speed, soft start for smooth start-ups, constant speed to control to maintain constant speed under load and a reversing system to prevent speed reduction of the motor in reverse rotation. The HP2070 has a conveniently located dual operation switch for Rotary Only and Hammer with Rotary. The torque limiter stops the drill if a bit hits against any reinforcements. The HP2070 has a large trigger switch, with recessed lock on button for continuous use and a side handle that swivels 360 degrees for added comfort. The Percussion Drill has a keyed chuck for durability.
FAQs
The first thing to consider is the kind of power your work site uses, as many of the Hammer Drills sold by ToolStore UK are offered in both 110v and 240v versions.
Then, a key consideration should be the tool’s Drilling Capacities. You should check that these will be sufficient for the work you’ll be doing.
You can get an idea of the power of the machine by checking the impacts per minute (ipm) and the no-load speed, which usually tells you how many revolutions per minute the drill can provide. Given that Hammer Drills are usually used on the toughest materials, such as masonry, a higher ipm can be very useful.
