Product Overview
The Makita DPO600Z 18v LXT Polisher is a high-performance cordless detailing tool engineered to match the consistent power output of mains-operated alternatives while offering complete mobility. At the heart of this machine is a high-efficiency brushless motor, which optimises energy use for extended runtimes and eliminates the need for internal maintenance. Unique to this model is its versatile two-mode selection system, allowing users to switch instantly between aggressive defect removal and ultra-fine finishing. The tool body has been thoughtfully designed with protective rubberised contact points, ensuring that the machine can be rested upside down on delicate surfaces without risking scratches or damage to the paintwork.
Part No: DPO600Z(MAKPDPO600Z)
Features & Benefits
- Dual-Mode Operation: Selectable rotation settings allow for 'Normal Mode' (forced rotation with random orbit) for rapid cutting and compounding, or 'Finishing Mode' (free-spinning random orbit) for delicate, swirl-free final polishing.
- High-Efficiency Brushless Motor: Delivers superior power transfer and reduced heat buildup compared to brushed motors, significantly extending the life of the tool.
- Constant Speed Control: Electronic monitoring maintains consistent rotation speeds even when load or pressure is applied to the surface, ensuring an even finish.
- Variable Speed Precision: Features both a variable speed trigger and a dedicated speed dial, giving the user complete control to match the RPM to specific compounds and surface types.
- Protective Housing Bumpers: Strategically placed elastomer bumpers on the tool head protect vehicle surfaces from accidental damage if the tool bumps the work area or when it is set down.
- Soft Start Technology: Gradually increases speed upon activation to prevent polish splatter and ensure a smooth initial engagement with the surface.
- Anti-Restart Function: A safety mechanism that prevents the motor from starting unexpectedly if a battery is inserted while the switch is locked in the 'on' position.
- Ergonomic Design: Engineered with a tactile soft grip and a front-hold area that facilitates comfortable two-handed guidance, reducing fatigue during extended use.
- Lock-On Switch: A recessed button allows for continuous operation without holding the trigger, ideal for polishing large bonnets or roof panels.

FAQs
Some cordless tools have specific uses, or simply don’t fit neatly into conventional product groups but that doesn’t mean you can’t buy them from ToolStore UK! From Grease Guns to Table Saws and everything in between, we are here to help.
When choosing a specialist tool, be sure to check the product specifications so you can be certain your purchase will perform as you need it to. Remember that, if you have any questions, we’re only too happy to answer any questions before you hit the “Buy Now” button. Just get in touch!
Brushed motors use carbon brushes to transfer power from the fixed part of the motor to the rotor. This creates a reliable and relatively inexpensive motor, but brushed motors d require regular maintenance, in order to either clean the brushes or replace them as they wear out. A brushless motor, by contrast, uses a magnet mounted on the rotor to generate the power and electrical switching to perform the function carried out by the brushes. The additional complexity of the motor’s working means that brushless motors are usually more expensive than brushed.
As a rule, there won’t be a choice of voltages for specific machine types we have listed under ‘Other Cordless’ but the category does include products which run at different power levels, from 10.8v through to 54v.
