The Makita DSC102ZJ cordless Threaded Rod Cutter is powered by either 14.4V or 18V LXT Li-ion slide type battery (not included). The brushless motor eliminates carbon brushes, enabling the motor to run cooler and more efficiently for longer life, and optimises battery energy use for up to 50 per cent longer run time per charge.

Our Expert Says…

The Makita DSC102ZJ has a compact motor section and an overall length of just 177 mm. This provides superior handling in overhead applications. The DSC102ZJ performs stable cutting, even on the floor. Both the fixed blade and moveable blade are double-edged and can be reversed as 'new' ones for longer life of the blade. Burr-free cuts allow for easy nut tightening. The DSC102ZJ's reversing switch is useful for easy blade release from a rod. If a rod is caught in the cutter blades, release it by pushing forward/reverse change lever to release the rotation of the motor. The tool also has an LED job light to illuminate the work area and confirm cutting position in the dark.

This is a Makita Body Only tool, supplied without a battery and charger.
