The DeWalt DCD996 combi hammer has an improved, larger brushless motor which delivers up to 34% more power than the DCD995 and features an improved automatic high speed for increasing the user's masonry drilling speed. The DCD996P1 has a 3-speed gear box giving you the ultimate control over the blows-per-minute and revolutions-per-minute rates. The control is backed by power; in gear three hammer mode youll have 38,250 blows per minute while the chuck spins at 2,250 rpm. The tool includes a 3-stage, bae-mounted LED worklight. The light has a maximum brightness of 60 lumens, enough to light up a huge work area and even bright enough to use as a torch. The light is controlled by a sturdy switch built in to the drill base.

What can you use a Cordless Combi Drill for?

Which is better: brushless or brushed drills?

Brushed motors use carbon brushes to transfer power from the fixed part of the motor to the rotor. This creates a reliable and relatively inexpensive motor, but brushed motors do require regular maintenance, in order to either clean the brushes or replace them as they wear out. A brushless motor, by contrast, uses a magnet mounted on the rotor to generate the power and electrical switching to perform the function carried out by the brushes. The additional complexity of the motor’s working means that brushless motors are usually more expensive than brushed.
However, eliminating the brushes also eliminates internal friction and maintenance, meaning that brushless motors offer both increased power and a longer working life. Brushless motors also generate less heat and noise and so, on balance, are considered superior to brushed motors.

Which voltage should I choose?
