Where are Makita tools made?
Makita is a Japanese manufacturer of power tools, based in Anjō, Japan. There are nine Makita manufacturing plants across the globe. Why do some Makita tools look white, black and orange?
You may have seen some Makita tools in different colours other than the distinguishable blue. Makita’s white tools represent their ‘compact’ line, which have been phased out. While their batteries tend to be smaller, they may not have as high torque or blade speed etc. Their newer ‘sub-compact’ range, with the most compact and lightest weight tools in the category, come in black to distinguish them from similarly sized Makita 12-volt tools. Orange (or red, as they’re sometimes described) represent Makita’s MT SERIES, ideal for DIYers, apprentices and trade users, who don’t need all the features of a high-end professional machine, just a robust and reliable tool to get the job done.
