The DeWalt DCS373 18v XR 140mm Metal Cutting Saw is designed to work in tough job site conditions. The ergomonic design of this saw, along with the rubberised grip, increases comfort, especially during operation. The powerful 460W motor delivers a 3700 rpm no load speed which helps the 140 mm diameter blade to produce a 43 mm max depth of cut at 90 degrees.
The spindle lock allows for quick and easy blade change, while the transparent front guard, LED light and unique chemically treated glass window combine to create an enhanced line of cut visibility. An intelligent trigger allows for total control over the tool regardless of application, reducing the risk of accidents.
The DeWalt DCS373N is part of the XR Lithium-ion range of cordless Power Tools, which offers extreme run time, increased efficiency and improved performance. This is a DeWalt Body Only tool, which can be paired with a wide range of batteries.
FAQs
Cordless Circular Saws are powerful tools which enable you to work around any home or jobsite without the potential trip hazard associated with power cables. However, it is important to choose the right saw for the work you’ll be doing with it. There are a lot of things to think about, including blade size as this affects cutting capacity and maximum cutting depth, the bevels at which the saw operates and the speed at which the blade moves, as the greater the revolutions per minute (RPM) a saw provides, the greater control you have over the cut.
Our range of Cordless Circular Saws covers a range of blade sizes, from 85 mm through to 190 mm. Larger blades offer greater cutting capacity and a larger maximum cutting depth. It’s important to think about the blade(s) supplied and / or available for the saw you’re looking to buy. As you’d expect, we have a range of Circular Saw Blades which covers all sorts of sizes and job types.
It’s also worth thinking about the kind of cuts you will be making. Some saws are better suited to straight cuts, others work better at a 45-degree angle, so it’s well worth checking the product specification before making a buying decision.
Brushed motors use carbon brushes to transfer power from the fixed part of the motor to the rotor. This creates a reliable and relatively inexpensive motor, but brushed motors do require regular maintenance, in order to either clean the brushes or replace them as they wear out. A brushless motor, by contrast, uses a magnet mounted on the rotor to generate the power and electrical switching to perform the function carried out by the brushes. The additional complexity of the motor’s working means that brushless motors are usually more expensive than brushed.
However, eliminating the brushes also eliminates internal friction and maintenance, meaning that brushless motors offer both increased power and a longer working life. Brushless motors also generate less heat and noise and so, on balance, are considered superior to brushed motors.
Our range of Cordless Circular Saws starts with 12v machines, but the increased power and relative affordability of 18v tools means this has become the industry standard, particularly as the 18v machines offer much more power without a huge increase in tool size. Professionals who need more power from their Circular Saw for working on site could also consider the 40v XGT range from Makita or DeWalt’s 54v FLEXVOLT machines.
