ExpertOur Expert Says…

This DeWalt cordless XR angle grinder has been designed with your safety in mind. To reduce fatigue, it is activated by a side mounted slide switch which has built in restart protection. The soft start feature allows the grinder to build up speed, avoiding an initial jump when powering up. A no-volt release system resets the switch if the battery becomes depleted or detached while the grinder is in operation. This ensures it will not suddenly start up by itself when a new battery is installed. Additionally, the electronic clutch protects from kickbacks, cuts, and wheel bursts in the event of a stall, while the electronic brake will bring the spinning accessory to a rapid halt in under 2 seconds to help reduce accidental contact and injury.

To protect the brushless motor from dust, the DeWalt DCG405N angle grinder features a protective mesh cover. It comes with a 2-position side handle, a keyless protective guard, and a blade wrench. Youll find a wide range of sanding and grinding accessories for your DeWalt angle grinder at ToolStore UK. Because this is a DeWalt Body Only tool, it isn't supplied with a battery and charger.

FAQs
FAQs
What should I look for when buying a Cordless Grinder?

There’s plenty to think about when choosing an Angle Grinder. The first factor is the disc diameter; larger discs can make deeper cuts.
Then consider how much power you might need. Higher wattage tools provide more power and can therefore cut denser material. Then think about speed; some grinders operate at fixed speed and others have variable speed control. Being able to vary the working speed of your grinder enables you to carry out more delicate work.
Another factor is whether the tool is equipped with safety features, such as a Paddle Switch and Soft Start.

Which is better: brushless or brushed tools?

Brushed motors use carbon brushes to transfer power from the fixed part of the motor to the rotor. This creates a reliable and relatively inexpensive motor, but brushed motors do require regular maintenance, in order to either clean the brushes or replace them as they wear out. A brushless motor, by contrast, uses a magnet mounted on the rotor to generate the power and electrical switching to perform the function carried out by the brushes. The additional complexity of the motor’s working means that brushless motors are usually more expensive than brushed.

Which voltage should I choose?

The work you’ll be doing with your grinder will influence which voltage you consider. If your grinder is going to be used for construction, you may want to think about choosing a Makita 40v or DeWalt 54v tool, but 18v variations are also available.

"A good tool I used for cutting/grinding 6mm stainless. Easy to use and well balanced with the battery inserted. It does chew through batteries though so good to have a couple of fully charged batteries handy. Obviously doesn't have the endurance of a mains powered grinder but good for small jobs out and about. Nice one Dewalt."

"Best price I could find. Second time I have used Toolstore and I am very pleased with their service. I needed a Dewalt grinder to suit all the Dewalt tools and hence batteries I already have. I googled the specs and reviews and I am very pleased with its performance to date. I like the soft start and the braking system. Other safety features like the clutch if you jam the disk I have fortunately not put to the test yet. The disk securing mechanism is different as there is no key required. The knurled nut works well and there is an option to use an alan Key (supplied) for extra tightness or unlocking if required. It's a nice light unit. Seems powerful enough but have not needed to test its limits yet. The disk guard is very simple to adjust without tools. So far i am very happy with this purchase."
