What should I look for when buying a Handsaw?

Handsaws can be incredibly useful tools, whether working at home or in a trade. But there are some things to look out for.

One consideration should be the blade length. Long blades are designed for long cuts and shorter blades for short cuts. The Handsaws in the ToolStore UK range in length from 120mm to 550mm.

Then, you should think about the number of Teeth Per Inch (TPI) the blade has. The more teeth are available, the cleaner the cut.

An extra thing to check is whether a Universal Handsaw is what you need or whether a more specific tool, such as a Coping Saw with a smaller, thinner blade or a Bow Saw for fast, aggressive cutting, would better suit the work you’ll be doing.
