You should also check the planning width; this tells you the maximum width the planer can cut in a single pass. The planning depth will show you how deep each pass can go. It is also worth looking at whether the planer has adjustable cutting speeds and depths. From a safety perspective, it’s always good to know whether the machine you’re considering has a Chip Direction Switch, so you can keep debris away from your face and body.
