ExpertOur Expert Says…
The Makita HM1812 has a "soft no load" function which automatically reduces the motor speed during idling to suppress the vibration of the machine body. The AVT Electric Breaker has fixed movement handles, engineered for control and accuracy and recessed lifting handles for convenience. An LED service light indicates when the carbon brushes need changing. The HM1812 has extremely low vibration, thanks to AVT: Anti-Vibration Technology. The Anti-Vibration system has an active dynamic vibration absorber with ensures operation with extremely low vibration. The tools have been designed with a flat sided body so they are easier to handle. The damper spring behind the drill bit absorbs reaction force caused by the drill bit at the moment of impact. The damper springs in the handle separate the handle from the machine body, further reducing the vibration. Advanced AVT provides vibration absorbing housing which moves independently of the motor and hammer mechanism effectively isolating more vibration away from the user.
FAQs
What should I look for when buying a Demolition Hammer?

The first thing to consider is the kind of power your work site uses, as many of the Demolition Hammers sold by ToolStore UK are offered in both 110v and 240v versions.

Then, think about the blows per minute (bpm) rate and the impact energy provided by each of those blows. These two aspects of the tool’s performance will provide a good guide to it’s suitability for specific jobs. For example, a pavement breaker will potentially operate at around 1,000 bpm, but will have a much greater impact energy than a standard, handheld Demolition Hammer.
