What should I look for when buying Holesaws?

Holesaws are mounted onto power drills using an arbor and used to cut large holes into workpieces without cutting up the core material. They can make larger holes more quickly than a standard drill bit and use less power to do so.

There’s a huge range of different Holesaws available, so think about the diameter of your potential purchase, its working length and the kind of finish you need. These factors should all be taken into account when choosing either individual Holesaws or a set which includes various diameters. Some brands include the cutting depth instead of working length in their product specifications but both terms will tell you the same thing. Some Holesaws are designed for working with specific materials – bear this in mind before you buy.
