What batteries work with Trend power tools?

Trend T18S batteries benefit from the latest advanced electronics that help to regulate the amount of power required to complete an application. Their technology protects the battery from overcharging or overheating and prevents charging when the cells are not in a suitable state to do. This protects you and the tool and maximises runtime with no unnecessary power drain. You can enjoy increased productivity through compact and powerful motors that minimise the size and weight of the tool while maximising the power output.

There are three T18S batteries to choose from. The T18S 2Ah compact battery is ideal for fast and light strain work, like sanding and light drilling where you need control over longevity. For routing applications, heavy sanding and drilling and demanding cutting, the slimline T18S 4Ah battery is slimmer and lighter than the TS18S 5Ah battery, but almost matches its power capacity. The T18S 5Ah heavy duty battery comes into its own in high power, high torque applications where the motors are demanding constant power.

What is a Trend router?

Perfect for edging and creating decorative features, a router is a handheld power tool that is used to hollow out wood. For intricate woodwork and metalwork, very few tools match the router, with the latest models offering a range of useful functions and settings, including adjustable speeds for improved accuracy.

Creating woodworking joints is easy with a Trend handheld or table mounted router when used with the appropriate jigs, guides, cutters, and accessories. At Toolstore UK, we stock a wide range of Trend tools and their accessories that can be used for things like trimming and edging, joint making, grooves, moulding, beading, and creating holes.

There are different types of routers. One of the most popular types of router is the plunge router that cuts from above in a similar way to a drill press. Fixed base routers have a body and base that are fixed together. It cannot plunge into the workpiece from above – it can only start from the edge.

Are Trend router bits any good?

A good quality router bit will be sharp and ready to use. Trend have extensive expertise producing routing and woodworking tool bits with expertly ground edges. All Trend products are produced to the highest possible specifications and packaged to ensure you receive them in the best possible condition.

Ensure your router bits have smooth surfaces, with no chips, cuts, or nicks that could gather dirt and dust. These may shorten the life of your bit and even ruin your work by throwing the bit out of balance or slowing it down.

With tungsten carbide-tipped routing bits, check the thickness of the carbide edges. The thicker the edge, the more times it can be sharpened. You’ll notice most Trend cutters are designed to be sharpened several times and the thicker carbide also offers more support to the edges when you’re working.
