BOSCH'S HISTORY
1898 - 1950
Bosch opened its first international office in Central London (its first outside of Germany) in 1898 and since then the company has been characterised by innovative drive and social commitment.
Despite the major global conflicts of the time causing much disruption, Bosch’s resilient nature stood the test of time. The following two decades were devoted to reconstruction, but also to harnessing new lines of business.
1950 - 2000
In the second half of the 20th century, continued success and growth required a major transformation in operations. Although the automotive market remained a key focus, Bosch diversified into other industries who gradually became more independent to cope with such a rapid pace of expansion.
2000 - Present
Technological advancements have changed our world in ways we could never have imagined. For Bosch, this marked another transformational shift as it began to venture again into new territories. Bosch continues to work towards a more connected world, with improved mobility, smarter homes and more connected industries a key focus for the company.
Today the company is a world market leader for power tools and power tool accessories, entering over 100 new power tools into the global market every year meeting the highest standards in speed, precision and robustness for great, professional work results.
In 2017, Bosch generated revenues in the UK of £3.5 billion, with the UK the second largest European market after Germany and fourth largest in the world.
